Through the use of Burkean methods and Gothic/horror conventions we discover how the televisual gothic horror show American Horror story can be seen as equipment for living. Using the concepts of the haunted house, the double, and time and space as metaphors that are representative of that characters of the show thus supporting the theory of AHS being Equipment for living through the choices that the Harmon family make and the horrors that they endure in the “Murder House.”
